I believe in a Supreme Being, I do call him God. Let me ask you a question if God had created Religion how many Religions would there be? Thus all these Religions are man made.

i have been posting always using the uc browser, then decided to try chrome on an android phone and found that most of my posts are unreadable!!.

I unfortunately can relate to alot of the abuse stories told here as I was raised by a single alcoholic mother who was both physically and verbally abusive. It show ed me the kind of mother I did not want yo be. Then I married a verbally abusive husband. I raised 2 children with learning disabilities so I became a child's advocate for both of them to make sure they got the education that they deserved, as I put education as a very high priority. I quickly learned that many kids were not getting this service so I started advocating for friends kids. School administrators knew that I knew the laws so when I showed up with parents their attitudes would change and OH Yes we will test your child according to the law. Funny how that works.
I am now in my 60s but even in my 20s my name says it all, I am a Rebel and a Fighter. If I had been a JW first time someone would have touched a child in a KH would have been the last time. I have gotten men fired from position of authority in companies I worked for. I have threatened companies with discrimination suits for statements "well, he is a man he deserves to be paid more". I won that one and the man saying that was forced into retirement. I assisted in putting a man in prison for 15 years for sexual abuse of 3 children, he would have gotten more but he plea bargained.
My heart goes out to everyone of you who have lived through this nightmare of a cult. I so regret the day I gave the Elder my phone number but I make a point now if I see literature being handed out to ask 3 questions then I remind them the 10 commandments says though shall not lie. They leave in a hurry. Funny they never return to that site ever again! !!

Never a JW, but a lifelong child's advocate. I totally agree with you on the sexual abuse!! But you also have a much larger problem which reaches each and every JW child and that is the terrible EMOTIONAL abuse. How many children go to bed at night with nightmares because of the teaching of Armageddon and shunning? How many children are harmed on a daily basis by this "Worldly " association so they have no friends? How many children are deprived of learning those talents that God gave them in after school programs because JWS cannot participate in those things? How many children are harmed by those insane cartoons?
From everything I have read on this forum, if anyone at all in authority thinks that this organization cares for the children or women they are dead wrong, this should be a men's only cult.

briefly, my family suffered my older/deceased brother's molestation when he was 13, in the congregation.
to this day, my mother still defends the elders that dealt with this situation.

None of us were Witnesses but my girlfriend's husband sexually abused all 3 of their children when she found out she had him arrested. For the next several years her kids stayed with me at night so she could work as night nurse in ICU. -

London Bethelites Are Agitated!
by The Searcher ina source has informed me that a relative who's in london bethel has said that a number of bethelites there are very uncomfortable and embarrassed because the branch has received "quite a few letters" querying why members of the governing body were wearing flashy rings and jewellery on some of the monthly broadcasts, but on the broadcast when the g.b.
asked for more money from the congregations - their gold and jewellery was not on display!.
will probably emerge one day wearing sackcloth, begging for yet more donations..

You are on the right track. That is the correct hat for the Royal Commandry and the correct uniform. The crown and cross on the original Watchtower magazine is used by a couple of the Masonic groups. If you go to a Masonic Lodge which currently host an active chapter of the Royal Commandry you would be able to see lots of those funny hats on the men. -

A Judicial experience.
by John Aquila inwhen i was an elder in the 80s, a 16 year old baptized jw girl had confessed that at school during lunch a boy kissed her and touched her privates over her dress.
the circuit overseer was in town and we told him of the situation and he called the society and then told us that mother said we were not allowed to conduct the funeral in the kingdom hall or anywhere else with the threat of removing us and being dealt with judicially if we disobeyed.
the mother who is about 79 years old comes once a year to talk to my mom about the situation.

John, on another thread you asked the question "Why" the other day. Many of your post like this one and the one about the older women you are taking to see the lawyer shows that your mom raised a very sensitive and caring young man. You woke up in order to help other people see these wrongs caused by the JWS.

This is another reason I am sure the "Elder" never discussed his religion with me. Although he did indicate I should give up all my memberships in the multiple Masonic groups that I belong to. I will relate one incident that recently occurred at a youth function, a mom was attempting to get her daughter's attention so she put 2 fingers on her chin. Obviously a little firmer then she thought. She left a bruise which was observed a little while later by another adult -- no questions were asked -- authorities were called and investigation by trained professionals.
I raised 2 children as a single parent, not once did I strike them. On most occasions a simple look from MOM most definitely would straighten out any misbehavior. You can accomplish a lot more with honey.
On another note: a LIE IS A LIE IS A LIE! My children learned that part of the 10 commandments before they were out of diapers. And like I told the "Elder " in my final email Jehovah knows when YOU are lying, so how do YOU face him?
